Travel Bursary

A minimum of two bursaries of €200 will be offered annually. Calls for applications will be distributed via email to the membership. 

The purpose of the bursary is to facilitate travel to an ICTMD Ireland conference for a postgraduate student, independent scholar or affiliated researcher. Priority will be given to applications from postgraduate students, early career researchers and researchers without academic support. The award is based on the quality of abstracts submitted and demonstration of an understanding of the contribution or potential contribution of this research to the field of music research. All applications will be judged by the ICTMD Ireland committee.

Eligibility:  

  • Independent scholars, current postgraduate students, early-career researchers, affiliated researchers.

  • Applicants who have applied for and been accepted to present at an ICTMD Ireland conference (annual or postgraduate) or the ICTMD World Conference

  • Applicants with research funding may apply

  • Applicants must be members of ICTMD Ireland

  • Committee members of ICTMD Ireland may not apply.

 

Applications must include:

Applicant Name; Name of conference; Title of conference paper as accepted; Abstract of the accepted paper/presentation/ lecture-recital, etc.; Degree programme, institution, and year of study (if relevant); Details of existing funding if relevant (e.g. scholarships); Place travelling from; Projected costs for travel, accommodation, and registration, with brief details.
